GROUP ICEBREAKER

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

RECAP

During the first week of our sermon series, Life Hacks, we dove into the topic of how to deal with inevitable issues that arise in life. Our conversation centered around the idea that while we can't necessarily sidestep problems, we can control our perspective toward them. When viewed through a lens of faith, problems have the ability to bring about purity, power, and progress in our lives.

“He sends rain on the just and the unjust alike”

Matthew 5:45

DISCUSSION

Question 1

The book of James tells us that when troubles of any kind come our way, that we should consider it an opportunity for great joy. For we know that when our faith is tested, our endurance has a chance to grow.

What has been your attitude towards problems in the past?

Question 2

Can you think about a difficult problem you faced, but through Christ you were able to find a positive outcome?

Question 3

What keeps you from seeing your problems as an opportunity for Joy?

PRAYER

Dear God,

As I face problems that pop up in life, I come to you in prayer for guidance and strength. Help me to find the courage to persevere and overcome these challenges. Grant me wisdom to make the right decisions and discernment to know your will. May your love and grace surround me, bringing peace to my heart and mind. I trust in your unfailing love and mercy, and I know that you are with me always. Thank you for being my refuge and my strength.

Amen.

LIVE IT OUT

One of the things that problems tend to produce in our lives is worry. This week when you notice yourself begin to worry, choose instead to pray!

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
